FAQ's

Help support Shoot in Minnesota's efforts to create incentives to bring production and production related employment to Minnesota.

If we want action to be taken, we have to take action. Our legislators have the power to create changes that will help our industry - and they listen when their constituents speak up. A grassroots effort can help carry our bill through the House and Senate, but it won't succeed without your participation.

Please take a few minutes of your time and send a handwritten letter (the best way to get attention) to the governor, and your state Senator and Representative(see the links below for more information). Thank you in advance for your support.

Please note : Legislators are inundated with hundreds of emails everyday, so the most effective way to get their attention is a handwritten note, card or letter, followed by a quick phone call with short message.

If you can only email be sure to put "Support Film Industry Incentive" in the SUBJECT field, and include a brief message. If you call, remember a staff person is answering hundreds of calls daily, so be brief, always asking that Representative (by name) to support Rebates for film production in Minnesota.

Here are a few a few talking points, but use your own words and experiences :

•  Incentives create jobs for Minnesotans.
•  Production companies spend millions in states that offer incentives.
•  We need incentives to compete with all of our neighboring states.
•  Wisconsin and Iowa recently enacted an incentive programs.
plan - Iowa is planning on enhancing its program.
•  We want to keep films created by Minnesotans in Minnesota.
•  The Film & Video industry is projected to grow over 30% by 2012.

We need to keep our jobs here & bring more opportunities to our state.
